Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as an inmate in Orange Is the New Black. Yael graduated from NIDA. Yael has a successful career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was thrilled to discover her new home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which was the venue where the production premiered to high praise, was her new home in New York City. Yael was the co-founder of The Cannery. Based in an Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages creativity, creative writing and innovative initiatives, and encourages the formation of new writers.
